About Us

Our History

Established 45 years ago by the visionary Henry Callahan, our program has become synonymous with greatness in the world of ultimate frisbee. Henry Callahan, a true pioneer, not only founded Ego but also laid the foundation for Eugene Darkstar, one of the oldest local club teams in the nation.

At the core of our identity is the indomitable spirit of each individual who joins our team. Our founder, Henry Callahan, had a vision that extended beyond the playing field. He pitched to the legendary Phil Knight, and since then, our team proudly dons Nike jerseys and sports Nike equipment during competitions, embodying a commitment to excellence and innovation.

The prestigious Callahan Award, named after our founder, is a testament to the values we uphold. It recognizes not only outstanding skill and athleticism but also exceptional sportsmanship, leadership, and dedication to the sport of ultimate. Ego has produced three Callahan Award winners in its storied history - Ben Wiggins, Eli Friedman, and Dylan Freechild, individuals who have left an indelible mark on the sport.

Oregon Ego is not just a team; we are ONE EGO. Through decades of competition at the highest level, we have shaped the sport and produced some of the finest athletes in ultimate frisbee history. Join us on this journey, where legacy, values, and passion converge to create a unique and enduring spirit - the spirit of Oregon Ego.
